The Gut, The Heart and The Mind.
Which one to be heard?

“Life is a process, allow yourself to feel whatever curveball it is throwing at you.”
Today, I listened to a podcast on Spotify by Rachel, called “RachReflect” where in it, she discussed about people decision-making process with Crystal Lim.
I enjoyed the podcast so much as it strikes chord with what I am often faced with day to day.
As someone who is so used to work in corporate setting, we mostly rely on our minds to solve problems. How to problem solve, how to appease customers, etc.
But in this podcast, both Crystal and Rachel put forward that often the best decision is the one that goes with your intuition, gut and feeling, NOT the mind. I take the message that the gut and heart often could not lie and they are our subconscious reaction. Someone got promotion, you are gutted is not you —→ this tells that you are envious or even jealous of them. AND it is okay to feel that way cause perhaps that is what you really wanted, what you foresee yourself growing into. Whatever feeling that we may feel, the butterflies, feeling the pit of our stomach, they are signals of what the body actually wants.
And so, how is it to come into conclusion about your decision?
For people who struggle with listening to their gut, to their heart, we (including me haha) need to mingle more with people who put their heart and gut on sleeve. Get to know their perspectives.
And vice versa.
Bottom line, for me, the key takeaway is that often times, your body could give you a lot of signals, be it the first response that you make when someone suggests and idea. The key to balance it out is to listen and acknowledge. I guess, there is no right or wrong answer, only time will unfold the outcome of it. Have a leap of faith they said. 😃
